Arc Stablecoin Market Cap Increases by $155 Million in One Week

Arc, a Layer-1 blockchain developed by Circle, has seen its stablecoin market capitalization rise to approximately $670.75 million as of October 19, 2026, marking a significant increase of 30.05% in just one week. This surge translates to an influx of around $155 million in stablecoins, reflecting a rapid growth trajectory for the blockchain that launched only a month ago.

Despite the impressive growth in stablecoin supply, user engagement appears to be declining. Daily active wallets on the Arc network have reportedly dropped by 94% from their peak during the launch week. This decline raises concerns about the sustainability of user interest and activity on the platform, even as the total value locked (TVL) in the ecosystem stands at $792.96 million, primarily composed of stablecoins.

The majority of Arc's stablecoin supply is driven by USDC, Circle's own dollar-pegged token, which accounts for $661.55 million, or 98.63% of the total. The initial deployment of nearly $649 million in USDC at launch facilitated immediate integration with major decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols like Aave and Morpho, establishing a functioning financial ecosystem from day one. However, the concentration of stablecoin holdings in a limited number of addresses poses risks, as large withdrawals could lead to volatility in the market.

While the drop in daily active wallets is concerning, there remains active borrowing against cirBTC, Circle's tokenized Bitcoin, on Morpho, indicating ongoing demand for credit within the ecosystem. The backing from institutional giants such as BlackRock, Visa, and Mastercard further supports liquidity, but the challenge remains for Arc to cultivate a broader and more engaged user base moving forward.
