Argentina's Central Bank Reaffirms Crypto Ban, Says Economic Fragility Insufficient to Support Integrating Crypto Assets into the Banking System

PANews, October 11 – According to Bitcoin.com News, Juan Curutchet, head of financial and foreign exchange institution supervision at the Central Bank of Argentina (BCRA), recently stated that crypto assets will not be allowed to be integrated into the banking and payment service system in the short term, and that the 2022 rule prohibiting financial institutions from providing crypto services will remain in place. Juan Curutchet noted that Argentina's current economic fragility is insufficient to support advancing such measures, and whether the ban will be lifted in the future depends on economic conditions, with the matter possibly to be discussed during a second Milei term.
