Bitcoin and Solana ETFs Experience Outflows While Ethereum Sees Inflows

On October 5, 2026, U.S. spot cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) exhibited contrasting trends, with Bitcoin and Solana funds experiencing net outflows, while Ethereum funds attracted new investments. This daily shift is particularly noteworthy as it diverges from the overall weekly trend, where Bitcoin had been the preferred choice among investors, accumulating significant inflows since the beginning of the month.

Data from SoSoValue indicates that Bitcoin ETFs recorded $241.09 million in net inflows for the week ending in early October, marking the third consecutive week of positive growth and bringing total inflows since their launch in 2024 to approximately $57.8 billion. In contrast, Ethereum ETFs faced a challenging week, with net outflows of $138.02 million, reducing their year-to-date total to around $1.5 billion. This follows a previous week where Ethereum funds had seen inflows of $690 million, highlighting a rapid shift in investor sentiment.

While Bitcoin and Solana ETFs both ended the day with outflows, Solana had previously enjoyed a streak of inflows, making the October 5 outflow particularly intriguing. XRP funds remained stable with no net flow for the day. Additionally, Zcash ETFs recorded their first weekly outflow, totaling about $94 million, indicating a broader trend of capital rotation towards Bitcoin and established assets, which may introduce increased volatility in the cryptocurrency market.
