BlackRock ETF Clients Invest $69.85 Million in Bitcoin

BlackRock's Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) clients have made a significant investment, purchasing $69.85 million worth of Bitcoin. This transaction reflects the ongoing demand for Bitcoin as institutional investors increasingly turn to spot Bitcoin ETFs for exposure to the cryptocurrency market.

The investment comes amid a recovery in flows for US spot Bitcoin ETFs, which had faced challenges earlier in 2026. Over a nine-day period that concluded in late September, these ETFs attracted approximately $3 billion, marking the strongest inflow streak since October 2025. BlackRock's IBIT fund captured a substantial portion of this, with inflows reaching about $1.2 billion in one week alone, while competitors like Fidelity and ARK 21Shares also saw increased interest.

BlackRock launched the IBIT fund in January 2024 after receiving approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Since then, it has emerged as a leading product in the market, frequently accounting for the majority of net inflows in the category. This concentration of institutional investment in IBIT highlights its significant influence on the broader Bitcoin market, especially as Bitcoin prices have fluctuated around the mid-$80,000s during trading periods.
