Circle Partners with Allaria to Enhance USDC Liquidity in Argentina

On October 20, 2026, Circle, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, announced a strategic partnership with Allaria, a prominent Argentine capital markets firm, aimed at increasing USDC liquidity and expanding institutional access in Argentina. This collaboration will facilitate two-sided USDC/ARS quoting, allowing Allaria to buy and sell USDC against the Argentine peso, thereby providing essential pricing for eligible market participants.

This initiative is targeted specifically at institutions rather than the general public, marking a significant step in enhancing the infrastructure for digital assets in Argentina. Allaria, with over 55 years of experience in brokerage and asset management, is well-positioned to support this venture, which follows Circle's earlier partnership with Grupo BIND in July 2026 to facilitate institutional access to USDC through BIND's BEN platform.

Circle's CEO, Jeremy Allaire, highlighted a more favorable macroeconomic environment in Argentina, citing improved fiscal indicators and relaxed currency regulations as factors that make the country more appealing for foreign investment compared to two years ago. Currently, USDC accounts for approximately 46% of stablecoin transaction volume in Argentina, indicating a shift in the market dynamics traditionally dominated by Tether's USDT.

While the partnership promises better access to dollar-denominated digital liquidity for institutions, it also carries risks. The recent economic improvements in Argentina could be subject to reversal, and regulatory changes concerning virtual assets could impact the operational landscape for these services.
