Doubao Public Relations Head Denies Layoff Rumors Amid Organizational Changes

On September 24, the topic of Doubao employees expressing concerns about the company's status trended on Weibo, following media reports suggesting that the Doubao General Session team had experienced staff reductions. Online discussions included claims of layoffs and significant cuts to the dialogue team, leading to perceptions that Doubao was becoming a marginal product.

In response to the circulating rumors, Liu Xing, the head of Doubao's Public Relations, issued a statement clarifying that the reports of layoffs were inaccurate. He explained that the changes were part of an organizational adjustment rather than a reduction in workforce. Liu noted that some functions of the Doubao General Session team have been redistributed to the Doubao Trading and Doubao Work teams, with personnel reassigned accordingly.

Liu emphasized that the team currently consists of fewer than 50 individuals, and the adjustments involved 11 personnel, with only three departing. He refuted claims made by some media outlets that suggested widespread layoffs affecting millions of users, asserting that many employees remain engaged in dialogue experience-related work, particularly in optimizing trading interactions.
