Echo Protocol Announces Gradual Shutdown of Bitcoin Infrastructure Services
Echo Protocol, a Bitcoin infrastructure protocol, has announced its decision to gradually cease operations due to business adjustments. The announcement was made on platform X, where the company expressed gratitude to its community, partners, and users for their ongoing support. The protocol has halted all core business activities, including new deposits and loans, as well as interest accrual for its lending services.
As part of the shutdown process, Echo Protocol has opened channels for repayment, withdrawal, and asset liquidation. Users are urged to take immediate action: lending users must repay debts and withdraw assets, while those involved in strategy and liquid staking derivatives (LSD) should initiate exits and claims promptly. Users holding aBTC can continue to utilize the Aptos-to-B² cross-chain bridge for redemption.
To facilitate an orderly liquidation, key deadlines have been established. Borrowers with outstanding debts must complete repayments by November 14, 2026, to avoid collateral liquidation. The final date for all users to make necessary transactions is November 19, 2026, at 23:59 UTC. Following this date, Echo Protocol will officially cease operations, with remaining positions entering a final liquidation and settlement phase, while retaining the Aptos-to-B² cross-chain bridge redemption service.
