Network Sees $122 Million in Liquidations, Primarily from Short Positions
In a significant market event, the cryptocurrency network experienced liquidations totaling $122 million within the past hour, predominantly affecting short positions. Data from CoinGlass indicates that while long positions accounted for approximately $2.6 million in liquidations, short positions were hit much harder, with liquidations amounting to around $119 million.
Bitcoin (BTC) saw the largest share of these liquidations, with approximately $88.3 million liquidated. Ethereum (ETH) followed with about $18.3 million, and Solana (SOL) experienced liquidations totaling around $5.1 million. This wave of liquidations reflects the volatility and rapid changes often seen in cryptocurrency markets.
