Public companies net bought $360M in Bitcoin last week, Strive contributed over 90%

PANews, October 19 — According to SoSoValue data, as of 8:00 a.m. ET on October 19, 2026, the total weekly net purchases of Bitcoin by global public companies (excluding mining companies) last week was $360 million, up 1,500% from two weeks ago. Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) bought 267 Bitcoin last week at $82,900, spending about $22.1 million, bringing its total holdings to 848,517 BTC. Japanese public company Metaplanet did not buy Bitcoin last week.

In addition, three other companies announced Bitcoin purchases or holdings last week. Asset management firm Strive announced on October 19 that it spent about $330 million last week to buy 4,045 Bitcoin at $81,734, bringing its total holdings to about 36,818 BTC; UK Bitcoin treasury company The Smarter Web Company announced on October 19 that it invested $6.93 million to buy 83 Bitcoin at $83,542, bringing its total holdings to 2,830 BTC; Ethereum asset company Bitmine announced on October 19 that it bought 1 Bitcoin without disclosing the specific purchase amount, bringing its total holdings to 215 BTC.

As of press time, the global public companies (excluding mining companies) tracked in the statistics collectively hold a total of 1,161,643 Bitcoin, with a current market value of about $95.41 billion, accounting for 5.8% of Bitcoin's circulating market value.
