German Savings Bank Group Sparkassen Launches Bitcoin Trading via DekaBank

The German Savings Bank Group Sparkassen has initiated Bitcoin trading through the banking application of DekaBank, a securities service and asset management institution within the German Savings Bank Financial Group. Currently, five savings banks are participating in this service, with over 230 additional savings banks expressing interest in joining the initiative.

DekaBank has outlined that each Bitcoin transaction will incur a fee of €0.99, in addition to a spread. Furthermore, withdrawals will be restricted to custodians that have received approval from DekaBank, ensuring a controlled environment for cryptocurrency transactions.

This development marks a significant step in integrating cryptocurrency trading into traditional banking frameworks in Germany, allowing customers of Sparkassen to access Bitcoin trading directly through their existing banking applications.
