SEC Commissioner Uyeda: Multiple crypto lawsuits dropped to avoid damaging credibility

PANews, September 24 — According to crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Commissioner Mark Uyeda said the SEC dropped several crypto-related lawsuits inherited from the previous administration, because continuing to defend legal interpretations that were about to be overturned would "damage the SEC's credibility." Mark Uyeda also described the SEC's "innovation exemption" mechanism for tokenized securities as a "pilot program," saying it could create "a lot of potential opportunities" for new market entrants and traditional financial institutions.
