Switchboard Oracle Protocol to Cease Operations by September 25, 2026
Switchboard Foundation Group has announced the closure of its decentralized oracle protocol, Switchboard, effective September 25, 2026. The decision comes as the organization cites several factors contributing to the decline in the value of third-party oracles, including the rise of artificial intelligence technology, a bear market impacting budgets for new blockchain projects, and increased direct collaborations between institutions such as Hyperliquid and S&P.
As a result of these challenges, Switchboard Technology Labs Inc., the core development contributor, has determined that it can no longer sustain operations. All versions of the protocol are now deprecated, and users are urged to migrate to alternative oracle service providers immediately. The recommended options for migration include Pyth and Redstone.
In the final week leading up to the closure, the technical support team will assist users with the migration process, ensuring a smoother transition to the new services. Users relying on Switchboard are advised to act quickly to avoid disruptions in their operations.
