U.S. Core CPI Increases to 2.6% Year-on-Year in September

The U.S. core Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the year ending in September has risen to 2.6%, surpassing expectations of 2.50% and up from the previous value of 2.40%. This increase reflects ongoing inflationary pressures in the economy.

In terms of month-on-month changes, the seasonally adjusted core CPI recorded a rise of 0.3% in September, exceeding the anticipated increase of 0.20%. The overall seasonally adjusted CPI also saw a month-on-month increase of 0.6%, aligning with expectations but higher than the previous month's increase of 0.40%.

These figures indicate a continued trend of inflation in the U.S. economy, prompting discussions among economists and policymakers regarding future monetary policy adjustments.
