Flash PMIs and Central Bank Insights Shape Market Focus

During the European trading session, attention will be directed towards the Flash Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) data for major Eurozone economies and the United Kingdom. Market analysts are particularly concerned about economic growth amid aggressive monetary tightening already reflected in current pricing. While inflation data remains a priority, any unexpected downturn in economic activity could lead to a dovish adjustment in the 2027 interest rate curve, potentially impacting the value of the respective currencies.

In the American session, the focus will shift to the US Flash PMIs, with expectations for the Manufacturing PMI to come in at 53.7, slightly down from the previous 53.9, and the Services PMI anticipated at 55.8, down from 56.5. A significant decline in these figures could prompt a dovish market response. Additionally, developments in US-Iran relations will be closely monitored, particularly due to their influence on oil prices, which in turn affect short-term inflation and interest rate expectations. Recent discussions on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly were reported as constructive, although the timeline for resolving the conflict remains unclear.

Central bank officials will also be speaking throughout the day, with notable appearances from members of the European Central Bank (ECB) and the Bank of England (BoE). ECB officials scheduled to speak include Vujcic, Zigman, Cipollone, and Lane, while BoE's Lombardelli will also address the market. Their comments may provide further insights into future monetary policy directions.
