DeFi Development Corp. Increases CHAD Preferred Stock Dividend to 14%

DeFi Development Corp., a company listed on Nasdaq, has announced an increase in the annual dividend rate for its CHAD preferred shares from 13% to 14%. This change, effective November 2, 2026, applies to the company's Variable Rate Series C Perpetual Preferred Stock, which trades under the ticker CHAD. The adjustment raises the annual dividend income to $1.40 per share based on a stated amount of $10.00 per share.

The decision to raise the dividend was revealed on October 15, 2026, and is part of DeFi Development's strategy to enhance the attractiveness of CHAD as an income-generating investment. The company, which has pivoted from a real estate platform to focus on holding Solana (SOL), plans to issue up to $300 million in additional CHAD shares to further fund its SOL treasury.

As of mid-October 2026, DeFi Development holds approximately 2.586 million SOL and equivalents. The cumulative nature of the dividends means that any missed payments will accumulate, providing a safety net for investors. The company aims to leverage its treasury through various strategies, including staking, to support the value of its preferred shares and benefit common shareholders without diluting their ownership.
