H World Group Limited Positioned for Growth in China's Hospitality Sector

Emerald Wealth Partners, an asset and wealth management firm based in Zurich, has highlighted H World Group Limited (NASDAQ:HTHT) in its Q2 2026 investor letter, noting the company's significant role in China's expanding domestic lodging market. H World Group, which operates a portfolio of economy to upscale hotel brands, is on track to become the largest hotel group in China by property count, surpassing established global players such as Marriott and Hilton.

As of September 23, 2026, H World Group's shares closed at $42.78, reflecting a 10.33% return over the past month and a 9.27% increase over the past year. The company has a market capitalization of $13.06 billion and is expected to grow its hotel portfolio from over 13,000 to approximately 20,000 by the end of the decade, with long-term potential to exceed 30,000 hotels. This growth strategy focuses on managed and franchised hotels, allowing H World to generate high returns through franchise and management fees rather than traditional property ownership.

Emerald Wealth Partners noted that the company's asset-light model positions it well to capitalize on the ongoing consolidation of China's branded lodging market. Despite its potential, H World Group Limited is not among the top 40 most popular stocks among hedge funds, with 23 hedge fund portfolios holding shares at the end of the first quarter of 2026, down from 32 in the previous quarter.
