Iran Claims U.S. Ready to Negotiate Amid Mediation Efforts

A senior Iranian official has reported that mediators from Qatar and Pakistan have conveyed the United States' readiness to engage in negotiations with Iran. The official emphasized that the U.S. appears serious about advancing discussions aimed at reaching an agreement.

Iran is prepared to resume its commitments under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, contingent upon the U.S. returning to the terms of the agreement. The Iranian official stated that practical and credible guarantees are necessary to ensure Iran's security and prevent future attacks. The U.S. must also halt hostile actions, lift the blockade, and allow Iran to export oil for negotiations on nuclear issues and sanctions relief to commence.

Additionally, Iran has reached a consensus with Oman regarding the strategic Strait of Hormuz. However, the Iranian official warned that the strait will remain closed as long as the blockade persists and no agreement is finalized with the United States.
