Remixpoint, Japan’s No. 2 Bitcoin Treasury Company After…
Japanese digital-asset treasury company Remixpoint has sold its entire portfolio of altcoins, leaving Bitcoin as the only cryptocurrency on its balance sheet as it consolidates its treasury strategy around the world's largest digital asset. The Tokyo-listed company disclosed on September 2 that it sold all of its Ethereum, Solana, XRP and Dogecoin holdings one day earlier for a combined ¥878.8 million, or approximately $5.5 million. The assets had a combined book value of roughly ¥761 million, meaning Remixpoint realized approximately ¥117.8 million, or $737,000, in gains.Remixpoint said it made the decision after considering market conditions, the risk-return characteristics of each cryptocurrency and its broader financial strategy. Following the transactions, its cryptocurrency portfolio consists exclusively of approximately 1,506 BTC, currently worth around $115 million.
ETH and SOL Generate Most of the Profit
Ethereum produced Remixpoint's largest realized gain. The company sold 901.45 ETH for approximately ¥353.4 million against a book value of ¥293.2 million, generating roughly ¥60.2 million in profit. Its 13,920 SOL position was sold for ¥227.9 million, producing another ¥49.3 million gain. Remixpoint also disposed of approximately 1.19 million XRP for ¥259.8 million, booking an ¥11.5 million profit. Dogecoin was the only losing position. The company sold approximately 2.8 million DOGE for ¥37.7 million, recording a loss of roughly ¥3.3 million. Combined, the four transactions produced the ¥117.8 million net gain Remixpoint expects to recognize as segment revenue during the second quarter of its fiscal year ending March 2027. The company said concentrating its cryptocurrency portfolio around Bitcoin would clarify its investment strategy and improve capital efficiency. That marks a notable reversal from its previous multi-asset approach. Remixpoint had accumulated ETH, SOL, XRP and DOGE alongside Bitcoin as part of a broader crypto treasury, but Bitcoin had already become overwhelmingly dominant before Tuesday's sales.Bitcoin Lending Adds Another ¥164M
Remixpoint is not relying exclusively on Bitcoin price appreciation. The company has been lending portions of its BTC treasury to generate additional returns. Between February 24 and August 31, its lending operations produced 14.92055902 BTC in fees, valued at approximately ¥164.2 million using applicable month-end exchange rates. August alone generated 2.48356398 BTC, worth approximately ¥31.2 million. Remixpoint had also generated income from staking its Ethereum and Solana before selling those positions. Its disclosure puts cumulative ETH and SOL staking rewards through August 31 at approximately ¥29.9 million, received in yen. The shift therefore involves a trade-off. Remixpoint is abandoning staking income and potential upside from several major altcoins in exchange for a simpler treasury structure concentrated entirely in Bitcoin. The company also said proceeds from the altcoin sales could be considered for uses including investments in grid-scale battery storage facilities and strengthening its financial position. Remixpoint remains one of Japan's largest corporate Bitcoin holders. Its own treasury tracker ranks it third among Japanese listed companies, behind Metaplanet's approximately 43,000 BTC and Nexon's 1,717 BTC. However, Nexon is primarily a gaming company rather than a dedicated digital-asset treasury operator, which leads some industry rankings to describe Remixpoint as Japan's second-largest DAT company behind Metaplanet. That distinction is becoming increasingly relevant as corporate crypto strategies diverge. Some companies have expanded beyond Bitcoin into Ethereum, Solana and other digital assets to capture staking yield or ecosystem exposure. Remixpoint is moving in the opposite direction. Its decision leaves shareholders with a substantially cleaner exposure: an operating Japanese public company whose cryptocurrency treasury is now entirely Bitcoin. With roughly 1,506 BTC remaining and lending already generating additional Bitcoin, future changes in Remixpoint's digital-asset portfolio will increasingly reflect a single question — whether the company continues accumulating BTC or begins deploying more of its treasury into yield-generating Bitcoin strategies.Source: FinanceFeeds
