Standard Chartered Projects Ethena's ENA Token to Reach $1.10 by 2027
Standard Chartered has made a notable move by issuing formal price targets for Ethena's ENA token, forecasting it to reach $1.10 by the end of 2027. This projection comes as ENA currently trades between $0.25 and $0.28, following a recent rally. The bank's analysis hinges significantly on the performance of USDe, Ethena's synthetic dollar, which is expected to recover and drive ENA's value upward.
The bank's forecast outlines a three-step target for ENA, with expectations of $0.42 by the end of 2026, $1.10 by the end of 2027, and $2.00 by the end of 2028. This represents a potential upside of approximately seven times from a reference price of about $0.28. Standard Chartered anticipates that ENA will outperform major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ether by the end of 2028, contingent on the growth of USDe, which currently has a supply of around $4.9 billion, significantly below its previous peak of over $10 billion.
A critical factor in this forecast is the activation of a fee switch mechanism that will direct 95% of net protocol revenue toward buying back ENA once USDe supply exceeds $7.5 billion. As of now, USDe remains below this threshold, meaning the buyback mechanism is not yet operational. Additionally, Standard Chartered expects Ethena to diversify its yield sources beyond perpetual futures into decentralized finance (DeFi) lending and real-world assets, which could further support ENA's price growth.
