Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, has publicly praised Nethermind for its ongoing improvements in the efficiency and operational speed of the Ethereum network. This acknowledgment comes as Nethermind's core developer, Ben Adams, announced the successful synchronization of its Beacon Chain plugin, which is now prepared to support the upcoming Glamsterdam fork on the Sepolia test network.
The Ethereum Foundation has confirmed that the Glamsterdam upgrade will be activated on Sepolia on October 6, 2026. Nethermind's version 2.1.0 has been updated to accommodate this significant upgrade. Adams noted that running both the Ethereum execution layer and the consensus layer as a unified application does not result in considerable additional memory overhead, indicating a streamlined approach to network performance.
