OKX to Launch Tokenized Securities Trading Venue in Collaboration with ICE

At the OKX NOW Global Product and Ecosystem Conference held in Singapore, OKX Vice President of Strategic Markets Louis Tam announced that the company has submitted a notice to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regarding the establishment of a tokenized securities trading venue. This new platform is expected to go live in approximately 30 days and will allow eligible customers to trade perpetual contracts for crude oil based on ICE Brent and WTI benchmarks.

Former Governor of New York and current OKX Board Member Andrew Cuomo confirmed that the trading venue will operate under the SEC's 'innovation exemption' mechanism. He noted that the SEC will impose certain limits on the number of tradable stocks and the volume of trading on the platform. Cuomo expressed optimism about this development, suggesting it represents a significant shift towards cooperation and integration between traditional finance and cryptocurrency financial technology.
