Analyst: Small and mid-cap crypto assets rarely lead BTC in trend, but reversal risk is high

PANews, October 18 - Crypto analyst Darkfost stated that since late August, small and mid-cap crypto assets have shown the strongest market cap growth, with the gap between their monthly and annual average market caps continuing to widen, and the relevant ratio now reaching 41%. By comparison, Bitcoin's ratio is 7%, while large-cap crypto assets stand at just 3.5%.

Darkfost noted that this trend is relatively rare, as Bitcoin usually leads market rallies, as was the case after the bear market ended in 2023. However, small and mid-cap assets are more sensitive to market changes, and the current trend could also reverse quickly.
