Analyst Warns of Potential Risks from Ledger Dealers Following Security Incident

Cryptocurrency analyst Darkfost has raised concerns regarding the safety of certain Ledger dealers following a security incident involving the dealer CryptoBilis. The incident has prompted discussions within the cryptocurrency community about other dealers that may be at risk, including some merchants on Lazada, an online shopping platform.

Darkfost noted that while Ledger has confirmed a connection to the CryptoBilis incident, it remains uncertain whether this dealer is the only one affected. He compiled a list of Ledger dealers that could potentially face supply chain risks due to their proximity to CryptoBilis. However, he stressed that this assessment is speculative and not yet verified.

In light of these developments, Darkfost advised users who have purchased Ledger devices from the identified dealers in the past six months to consider transferring their assets to more secure devices until the investigation concludes. He also recommended that users consult guidelines from security researcher MagicalTux to check their Ledger devices for any signs of tampering.
