Bitget CEO Updates on Platform Attack and Withdrawal Recovery Plans

Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, announced in a live broadcast that the cryptocurrency exchange is working to resume withdrawal services following a recent security incident. While the platform is preparing to restore operations, Chen indicated that there is currently no specific timeline for when withdrawals will be available again.

The attack on Bitget was characterized by Chen as distinct from previous incidents affecting other exchanges. Investigations reveal that the hackers did not gain access through key leakage, a scenario Chen described as the worst-case outcome. Instead, the attackers managed to bypass certain systems to initiate unauthorized withdrawals.

Due to the complexity of the incident, which involved multiple cryptocurrencies and blockchain networks, Bitget has temporarily halted all withdrawals. The platform is focused on ensuring the complete security of funds and developing a careful plan for resuming services. Chen emphasized that comprehensive loss prevention measures have been implemented to prevent further attacks, and withdrawals will be reopened once security concerns are adequately addressed.
