Bitget Confirms User Assets Safe Following Security Incident

Xie Jiayin, the Greater China Regional Head of Bitget, announced that the Bitget Protection Fund, which currently exceeds $464 million, is sufficient to cover losses from a recent security incident. The attack was detected early on September 25, 2026, when Bitget's security system identified abnormal transfers from some hot wallets.

The preliminary assessment indicates that approximately $351.6 million was involved in the incident. However, Bitget confirmed that its cold wallets and the majority of platform assets remain secure and unaffected. In response to the attack, the company activated its emergency response team within minutes, temporarily disabling the withdrawal function as a precautionary measure.

Bitget has reported the addresses associated with the abnormal transfers and is cooperating with law enforcement and on-chain security agencies to investigate the incident. The company plans to provide hourly updates on the situation and will release an official report within 24 hours, detailing the root cause of the attack and the corrective measures taken. Until the investigation is complete, Bitget officials will refrain from speculating on the method of the attack.
