Crypto Hackers Utilize Zcash for Fund Transfers in Recent Attacks

Recent investigations have revealed that hackers involved in high-profile cryptocurrency incidents are using Zcash (ZEC) to obscure the movement of stolen funds. Notably, the attackers linked to the Ledger case and the Triple-A case have been identified as utilizing ZEC for this purpose, according to blockchain analyst ZachXBT and on-chain detective Specter.

The analysis indicates that the Bitget attackers have successfully concealed their stolen assets through Zcash, a privacy-focused cryptocurrency. Additionally, funds from the Cryptobills Ledger incident and approximately $12 million from the Triple-A hacker attack have also been traced to ZEC, highlighting a concerning trend in the tactics employed by cybercriminals in the cryptocurrency space.
