MultiversX: Potential Issue Detected on Mainnet, Under Investigation
MultiversX posted on X that the team is investigating a potential issue detected on the MultiversX mainnet. MultiversX said it will release further updates within the next 12 hours or as soon as a clear conclusion is reached.
Garrett Jin Holds $320 Million in ZEC Spot; $60 Million Short Position May Be Partial Hedge
A screenshot shared by Garrett Jin shows that on December 24 last year, he withdrew 68,080 ZEC (worth $29.7 million at the time) from Binance, and the same wallet withdrew another 134,000 ZEC ($58.6 million) a few minutes earlier. He subsequently shielded and then unshielded all 202,080 ZEC, and currently still holds the entire amount. At $1,580 per ZEC, these holdings are now worth $320 million, compared with $88.3 million at the time. Therefore, his short position of 38,000 ZEC ($60 million) on Hyperliquid, which currently shows an unrealized loss of $34.5 million, can be viewed as a partial hedge against his spot holdings.
SlowMist Chief Information Security Officer 23pds posted on X that the black/gray industry has achieved a full attack chain against iOS users: clicking a link to extract private keys and mnemonic phrases; when users visit web pages via Safari, gaining JS-layer read/write capability through WebKit/JSC memory corruption; bypassing PAC to obtain native call capability; escaping the WebContent sandbox; and escalating kernel privileges to obtain root access, exfiltrating Keychain and wallet data. Affected versions are iOS 13 to 26.5, and iOS users are advised to upgrade as soon as possible.
Analyst: BTC Above 50-Week MA Targets $89,000; Bear Market Is Over
Analyst PlanB posted on X that Bitcoin has risen above the 50-week moving average (around $79,000), with the next target being the 100-week moving average (around $89,000). PlanB also said he has personally confirmed the bear market is over, with the August closing price at $78,571 and multiple indicators improving; the percentage of Bitcoin in profit rose from 50% to 72%, and the monthly RSI rose from 41 to 51, leading him to conclude that the bottom has passed and the outlook is bullish.
Michael Saylor Rebuts Bitcoin Skeptics: Digital Capital Is the Killer App, the Orange Tie Stays
Investor Jason Calacanis posted a bearish take as Bitcoin returned to $80,000 on Friday, saying "the dead cat bounce continues" and questioning "what exactly is Bitcoin after 17 years." He argued that Bitcoin is neither good at transactions nor smart contracts, that the user experience is intimidating, and that it no longer captures the public imagination, calling it "boring." He said its advocates have gone from "pirates" to "suits wearing orange ties," and that if Bitcoin were going to achieve mass adoption and important use cases, "it would have happened by now." In response, Strategy founder Michael Saylor said Bitcoin is now a successful project with a $1.6 trillion market cap and the world's most valuable digital asset. Addressing Calacanis's claim that Bitcoin is no longer a hot topic at dinner parties, Saylor said "digital capital" is the killer app, and preserving wealth across generations is a grander goal than entertaining dinner guests, adding that "the orange tie stays" — orange being Bitcoin's signature color, signaling his commitment to the Bitcoin camp.
B2 Rises 120% This Afternoon; Market Maker Transfers $10.44 Million in B2 to Binance Alpha
B2 surged 120% this afternoon from $0.41 to $0.9. Its active market maker transferred 13 million B2 ($10.44 million) to Binance Alpha through multiple wallets half an hour ago. These B2 were withdrawn from Bitget and Gate a month ago at a price of $0.47, for a profit of $4.27 million. One of the wallets that transferred to Binance Alpha is linked to an address that previously operated SIREN, and this active market maker may be the same one that operated projects such as SIREN, AKE, XPIN, and BTR.
ZachXBT Accuses zkSNARKs of Being an Eight-Figure Money Grab
ZachXBT accused the newly launched Zcash NFT project zkSNARKs of being an eight-figure money grab, with its blind auction raising $17 million yet offering no utility. ZachXBT said the team obtained a 10% allocation and 5% royalty at a minting cost of only about $2,000, comparing the issuance to previous Ordinals scams.
Trader's ZEC Long Position Up $9.98 Million After One Month
A trader opened a long position of 9,810 ZEC at $517.68 about a month ago and is currently up $9.98 million in unrealized profit. The trader also holds a short position of 3,550 ETH with an unrealized loss of $2.6 million.
Fetch.ai and NuNet Attacked by Same Attacker in Succession, Total Losses Around $2 Million
The same attacker attacked Fetch.ai and NuNet in succession, causing total crypto asset losses of about $2 million: 8.7 million FET (worth $1.53 million) were stolen, and 408.5 million NTX (worth $462,730) were minted. NuNet's NTX token price has fallen by about 65%. The attacker has now converted the stolen funds into 546.36 ETH (worth about $1.44 million).
Michael Saylor posted that for the digital asset industry, moving forward under a framework of supportive regulations from the SEC, CFTC, Treasury, and banking regulators is preferable to accepting the restrictions in the final CLARITY Act compromise. Saylor noted that the current government is willing to promote financial market modernization, and the industry should use the next two years to develop lower-cost, more accessible, and more useful financial products, deploy them broadly, and let users truly benefit, thereby building a strong base of public support. He criticized the September CLARITY compromise for restricting yield on payment stablecoins and imposing additional limits on the transfer of community bank deposits, arguing this would hinder competition and innovation. The GENIUS Act already addresses issuer interest payments, so there is no need to layer on more restrictions. Saylor emphasized that the industry should accelerate the rollout of products such as Bitcoin custody and lending, tokenized stocks, stablecoin payments, and integrated exchange services under the existing legal framework, so that more Americans benefit directly. Real protection comes from millions of satisfied users, not from waiting for legislation that may bring permanent restrictions.
A joint advisory issued by multiple agencies including the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Japan's National Police Agency (NPA) revealed that the North Korea-linked hacker group WaterPlum (also known as Contagious Interview) attacked global IT developers from December 2025 to July 2026 by posing as companies in the AI, cryptocurrency, or NFT sectors offering fake job positions. The attackers contacted job seekers on social media and recruitment platforms, luring them into downloading malicious files under the pretext of technical interviews or coding tests, successfully infecting over 30,000 devices across more than 100 countries and regions, and stealing data from over 7,000 crypto wallets. At least $10.71 million in related funds flowed into wallets controlled by the attackers.
MultiversX: Mainnet Hacked, Network Paused
MultiversX posted that it has confirmed an attacker attempted to exploit an atomicity issue at the mainnet virtual machine (VM) level, causing invalid state changes on-chain. To prevent further impact, the network has been paused. The engineering team has prepared a fix and is validating it in a shadow fork environment. If testing succeeds, the fix will be deployed to the mainnet in coordination with validator nodes, exchanges, and infrastructure partners. Meanwhile, the team is evaluating a targeted recovery plan aimed at preserving finalized transaction history and legitimate user state while only processing the invalid changes related to this incident. Users do not need to take any action and should simply wait for notification that normal operations have resumed. Officials remind users not to submit or rebroadcast transactions for the time being, and not to deposit or withdraw EGLD or ESDT through exchanges or cross-chain bridges. Earlier, MultiversX posted on X that the team was investigating a potential issue detected on the MultiversX mainnet.
Taiyuan Chengming Technology Co., Ltd. sent a letter to Beijing Zhipu Huazhang Technology Co., Ltd. raising multiple demands regarding its ZCode client's alleged unauthorized upload of company data assets and trade secrets, and reserving the right to pursue legal accountability. Chengming Technology pointed out that although Zhipu had publicly apologized for "ZCode silently uploading user local repository data" and claimed it had been fixed, Chengming Technology's independent evidence collection found that the upload behavior was automatically triggered and occurred in batches, and was not merely "code snippets" but complete archived files containing the project's full source code, system architecture, version control history, database passwords, cloud service credentials, and employee personal information — far exceeding the collection scope stated in its Privacy Policy. In addition, although the client was updated to version 3.12.3 on September 16, upload behavior was still detected in the early morning of the day Zhipu publicly apologized, raising doubts about the actual effectiveness of the "fix." At the same time, the ZCode client's network requests point to a Singapore entity, while the service agreement's contracting entity is Beijing Zhipu Huazhang, and Chengming Technology demanded clarification on the responsible entity for this upload and whether the data was transferred abroad or stored overseas. Chengming Technology required Zhipu to respond in writing before October 10 and complete the following: immediately stop processing and thoroughly delete all uploaded data and related derivative data, caches, and backups; provide a complete list of processing details; explain where the data went, whether it was shared with third parties, whether it was used for model training, and whether cross-border transfer occurred; explain how encrypted private keys are stored and provide complete operation logs of data access, download, and export; explain the exact scope of the "destruction" mentioned in its earlier public response; provide proof of deletion completion; commit in writing not to upload again without authorization; provide personal information access, copying, and explanation in accordance with the law; designate a formal communication channel; explain the responsible entity and data export situation; and provide the original text of the published rectification statement. Zhipu has not publicly responded to the letter as of now. Related reading: Zhipu ZCode Code Upload Controversy Follow-up: Who Audits Agent Data Behavior?
Cross-chain asset protocol Universal announced that, because user adoption over the past two years has not reached the level needed to sustain the protocol long-term, it has decided to gradually shut down the Universal protocol. The protocol will remain operational for 60 days until November 17, with existing infrastructure and the underlying asset backing of uAssets unaffected. During the shutdown period, users can sell uAssets through the Universal app, or directly redeem underlying assets through the minting and redemption interface; large redemptions can be handled by contacting the team. After November 17, the protocol will officially close, and remaining uAssets will be redeemed through smart contracts; uSOL, uXRP, uDOGE, uADA, uBTC, and uLTC on Base will be converted to their corresponding bridged assets, while other uAssets will be converted to USDC. The final redemption assets and smart contract information will be announced before closure.
Prediction market platform Kalshi has submitted a rule change application to the U.S. SEC and filed an application with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) seeking approval to launch perpetual contract products tied to U.S. individual stocks. The proposed contracts have no predetermined expiration date and will be settled through periodic funding rates between long and short positions to keep the contract price aligned with the underlying stock price. Kalshi said these contracts will be treated as security futures products and cleared through its CFTC-registered clearinghouse Kalshi Klear. On the same day, Kraken parent company Payward also filed an application through its subsidiary Bitnomial Exchange, planning to initially launch perpetual contracts tied to 10 U.S. stocks including Tesla, Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon, and to advance 24-hour × 5-day trading.
