Nasdaq Declines 1.29% Amid Chip Sector Weakness

The Nasdaq Composite Index experienced a decline of 1.29% in trading, reflecting ongoing challenges in the technology sector. This downturn comes as the broader U.S. stock market showed mixed results, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising by 0.46% and the S&P 500 falling by 0.4%.

The semiconductor industry has faced significant pressure, with major companies reporting notable drops in their stock prices. SK Hynix and SanDisk both fell by 6%, while Micron Technology saw a decrease of 3.9%. Other notable declines included Western Digital, which dropped over 5%, and NVIDIA, which fell by more than 3%. This marks the fourth consecutive day of losses for the chip sector, raising concerns among investors about the industry's performance.
