Tether Blacklists Four THORChain Vaults, Halting Operations
Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, has blacklisted four treasury addresses associated with THORChain, a decentralized liquidity protocol. These addresses collectively hold around 1.45 million USDT, leading to significant operational disruptions for THORChain.
As a consequence of the blacklisting, THORChain's cross-chain exchanges and liquidity provider operations on the Tron network have been suspended. Chad Barraford, co-founder of THORChain, expressed that the team was not informed in advance of Tether's decision, raising concerns about the lack of communication from the stablecoin issuer.
