UK Police Offer £10,000 Reward Following Violent Crypto Home Invasion

UK authorities have announced a £10,000 reward for information related to a violent home invasion that occurred in Solihull, West Midlands, on December 13, 2025. The attack involved three masked men who forced a pregnant couple to transfer their cryptocurrency assets while a fourth suspect directed the robbery via video call. The couple was targeted as they returned home in the evening, and the husband sustained serious injuries during the assault, while his wife was threatened with a knife.

The incident has raised concerns about a growing trend known as 'wrench attacks,' where criminals use physical force to compel victims to hand over digital assets. Unlike traditional bank robberies, cryptocurrency transfers are often irreversible, leaving victims with little recourse once assets are sent to the attackers' wallets. This type of crime has been on the rise in the UK, with a similar incident in London in June 2024 resulting in the theft of over $4.3 million in digital assets.

Crimestoppers, the organization offering the reward, aims to encourage anyone with information about the Solihull attack to come forward. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed, and police have released limited descriptions of the suspects, complicating identification efforts. The reward remains active as investigators continue to seek leads in this troubling case.
