Trump-Xi Summit Anticipated to Yield Limited Business Agreements

Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to visit Washington, D.C. for the first time in 11 years, but expectations for significant business deals are low. Reports indicate that Xi is unlikely to bring a delegation of Chinese CEOs, which diminishes the potential for major agreements during the summit.

The discussions between President Xi and U.S. President Donald Trump are expected to center on extending the existing trade truce, as well as topics such as artificial intelligence and rare earth materials. There may also be incremental progress on tariff issues, but no substantial breakthroughs are anticipated.
