Crypto market falls across the board, AI sector drops 5.09%, BTC briefly dips below $81,000
PANews reported on October 9 that, according to SoSoValue data, crypto market sectors fell across the board, with 24-hour declines generally ranging from about 2% to 6%. The AI sector dropped 5.09%, with Bittensor (TAO), Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL), and Venice Token (VVV) falling 7.27%, 8.34%, and 10.24% respectively, while SoSoValue (SOSO) bucked the trend with a 13.11% gain.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin (BTC) fell 1.55%, briefly dipping below $81,000 intraday, and Ethereum (ETH) dropped 3.88%, falling below $2,500.
In other sectors, the Layer 2 sector fell 1.47% over 24 hours, but Starknet (STRK) rose 21.98%; the PayFi sector dropped 3.90%, with Zcash (ZEC) down 9.71%; the DeFi sector fell 3.97%, with Uniswap (UNI) down 7.94%; the CeFi sector dropped 4.23%, with OKB down 5.93%; the Meme sector fell 4.58%, with Binance Life (币安人生) relatively resilient, surging 7.15% intraday; and the Layer 1 sector dropped 4.96%, with NEAR Protocol (NEAR) down 12.46%.
Crypto sector indices reflecting historical sector performance showed that the ssiAI, ssiMeme, and ssiNFT indices fell 7.15%, 5.41%, and 4.89% respectively.
