Citrini Research has released a report titled "Breaking The Wall," which emphasizes the potential of fee-earning crypto infrastructure over traditional investments in Bitcoin and Ethereum. Published on October 8, 2026, the 79-page document argues that the future of cryptocurrency lies in the tokenization of traditional financial assets and the rise of agentic artificial intelligence (AI).
The report identifies five tokens—Aave (AAVE), Uniswap (UNI), ether.fi (ETHFI), Pendle (PENDLE), and Ondo (ONDO)—as key players in this evolving landscape. These tokens are positioned to benefit from the growing market for tokenized stocks, bonds, and loans, which could enable 24/7 programmable finance. The report suggests that the infrastructure for trading, lending, and derivatives on tokenized assets will be crucial for capturing value in the sector.
Citrini Research also provided a sample portfolio, where the five highlighted tokens account for 29% of a broader 15-token allocation. The firm has gained significant attention, boasting over 260,000 subscribers on its Substack platform, and was recently acquired by SemiAnalysis in September 2026. The report underscores that while the trends of tokenization and agentic AI are underway, their full impact on financial markets remains to be seen.
