Ethereum Foundation Transfers 4,393 ETH to Kraken Exchange

On October 12, 2026, two wallets associated with the Ethereum Foundation transferred 4,393 ETH to the Kraken exchange, a transaction valued at approximately $11.13 million. The transfer was identified by on-chain tracker EmberCN and reported by various outlets, although neither the Ethereum Foundation nor Kraken has publicly commented on the transaction.

The sending wallets, identified as 0x4c4…2b94 and 0x999…0229, have a history of transactions involving significant amounts of ETH. One of the wallets received 59,751 ETH from an Ethereum Foundation address in 2016 and has since sent 49,751 ETH to Kraken, indicating a long-term pattern of activity between the foundation and the exchange.

This recent transfer is part of a series of similar transactions that have occurred over the past year, including movements in May and August 2026, as well as late 2025. These transfers are often interpreted as operational activities by the foundation, potentially related to liquidity needs or upcoming projects. Observers in the cryptocurrency community are monitoring for any further developments or explanations from the Ethereum Foundation regarding these transactions.
