Mert Mumtaz, the CEO of Helius, a company specializing in infrastructure for the Solana blockchain, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the NEAR Foundation. In this role, he will contribute to shaping the product strategy, fostering ecosystem growth, and enhancing governance within the organization.
The NEAR Foundation, which supports the development of the NEAR Protocol, includes notable members such as co-founder Illia Polosukhin and Anchorage Digital co-founder Diogo Mónica. Mumtaz has a history with NEAR, having been an early user of NEAR Intents, which he described as 'a marketplace of marketplaces.' His experience is expected to bring valuable insights to the council as it navigates the evolving landscape of blockchain technology.
