IBM Connects Digital Asset Haven to Swift's Shared Ledger for Tokenized Transactions

IBM has announced that its digital asset management platform, IBM Digital Asset Haven, will now enable connections to permissioned blockchain networks, including the shared ledger developed by Swift. This integration allows financial institutions to initiate tokenized deposit transactions using a new beta version of the ISO 20022 message adapter, which facilitates standard payment messages on the blockchain.

The shared ledger, first introduced by Swift at the Sibos 2025 conference, was created in collaboration with Consensys and has seen participation from over 40 financial institutions. Currently, 17 of these institutions are involved in a pilot program for tokenized deposits. Swift's network connects more than 12,500 financial institutions across over 200 markets globally, enhancing the capabilities for banks to transfer digital assets continuously while maintaining final settlements through traditional systems.

Additionally, IBM is expanding Digital Asset Haven by offering a localized deployment beta version that can be installed on IBM Z and IBM LinuxONE systems within clients' own data centers. This setup allows for the management of digital assets, including stablecoins and tokenized deposits, without the need for public cloud infrastructure. IBM emphasizes that this localized solution ensures that key management remains secure within the client's environment, utilizing IBM Crypto Express hardware security modules.
