Solana Token Reaches Nine-Month High, Boosting Corporate Holdings

The price of Solana's cryptocurrency, SOL, has surged to approximately $120, marking its highest level in nine months. This increase has positively impacted several publicly traded companies in the United States that have invested heavily in SOL tokens, with their stock prices reflecting this upward trend. Companies such as Forward Industries, which holds between 7.55 and 8.16 million SOL tokens, are seeing their investments valued at nearly $1 billion. Forward Industries recently announced a $25 million common stock offering aimed at acquiring additional SOL tokens.

Solana Company, another Nasdaq-listed firm, possesses around 2.06 to 2.3 million SOL tokens, a position it built after raising approximately $500 million through a private investment in public equity (PIPE) transaction in 2025. Other companies like DeFi Development Corp. and Upexi also hold significant amounts of SOL, contributing to a collective treasury of over 17 million SOL across these public entities, equating to more than $2 billion at the current token price.

The recent price rally has been fueled by over $200 million in inflows into U.S. spot Solana exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and a growing ecosystem that includes tokenized equities and real-world asset applications. However, the Solana Company reported a net loss of $130.1 million for the first half of 2026, primarily due to unrealized losses from its SOL holdings during previous price declines. Analysts are cautiously optimistic, with price targets for SOL ranging from $130 to $500, but there are concerns about the potential risks associated with the concentration of SOL holdings among public companies.
