Echo Protocol announced it is winding down after nearly two years of operations. The process includes halting new activity, users withdrawing assets, and outstanding debts being repaid.

The protocol has already stopped accepting new deposits in its Lending product, issuing loans, and accruing related interest. It has also halted new deposits in Strategy and new assets for staking in the LSD product. At the same time, users still have access to loan repayments, withdrawals, and any required asset liquidations.

Echo recommends that Lending users repay their debt, unlock collateral, and withdraw available assets. Strategy users are advised to initiate an exit and complete withdrawals as soon as that option becomes available. LSD holders can use the existing unstaking and withdrawal mechanisms to retrieve their assets.

Holders of aBTC who want to swap tokens to B² Network will still be able to use the Aptos-to-B² Bridge.

The withdrawal and repayment process for Lending, LSD, and Strategy began on October 19, 2026, at 00:00 UTC. Borrowers must repay loans by November 19, 2026, 23:59 UTC. Unrepaid loans may result in collateral liquidation, and the proceeds will be used to cover obligations to lenders.

After this deadline, any remaining positions will move to liquidation or final settlement depending on the situation. The team said it will share the exact timeline for completing collateral liquidations and distributing funds later.

What services will remain after the shutdown?

After November 19, Echo Protocol will cease operations. The only service that will remain available will be swaps via the Aptos-to-B² Bridge.

The team urged users to ignore private requests to transfer funds or sign transactions to third-party wallets. Further updates on the wind-down will be published only through Echo’s official channels.

If users have questions about withdrawing assets, they are advised to contact the project’s official Discord server and open a support ticket.

As a reminder, in May 2026, Echo Protocol was hacked. At the time, the project’s token fell by more than 11%.
