New ETF DCAP Launches Focusing on Digital Credit Preferred Securities

The T-Strive Digital Credit Preferred Income ETF, known by its ticker DCAP, has officially launched on the Cboe BZX Exchange, marking a significant development in the investment landscape. This exchange-traded fund (ETF) is the first in the United States to focus exclusively on digital credit preferred securities, offering investors the opportunity to earn substantial yields without directly holding Bitcoin.

DCAP's portfolio is divided evenly between two preferred securities: STRC, issued by Strategy Inc., and SATA, issued by Strive Inc. Both securities are linked to companies that maintain significant Bitcoin holdings. The ETF is actively managed by Tuttle Capital Management, with Strive Asset Management providing limited sub-advisory services. The fund mandates that at least 80% of its net assets be invested in what it terms 'Digital Credit Preferred Securities,' which are defined as preferred securities from companies that derive at least 5% of their income from Bitcoin or related instruments.

At launch, SATA is offering an annualized yield of approximately 13%, with daily dividend payments, while STRC provides returns ranging from 12% to 13.16%, paid semi-monthly. The differing yield profiles reflect the distinct operational strategies of the two companies, with SATA adopting a conservative cash reserve approach and STRC benefiting from the established reputation of Strategy Inc. in the corporate Bitcoin treasury sector.

Investing in preferred securities provides a unique position in the capital structure, as they rank above common equity, ensuring that holders receive payments before shareholders in adverse situations. However, the performance of these securities is closely tied to the volatility of Bitcoin prices, which poses risks to dividend sustainability. Despite SATA's conservative strategy, potential downturns in Bitcoin could impact the ability of these companies to maintain their dividend payouts.
