Starknet Launches strkBTC Faucet Claims with Registration Reopening

Starknet has officially launched its strkBTC faucet, allowing registered users to claim privacy-wrapped Bitcoin on the network. The faucet distributes approximately $833 worth of strkBTC each week, with up to 100 users selected randomly to receive allocations of about $8.33 per person. Registration for the next round will reopen on September 29.

The claim process involves two stages. Users must connect a Starknet-compatible wallet, such as Xverse, and pass a screening confirmation to receive an unshielded allocation of strkBTC along with a bonus in STRK, Starknet's native token. Users can then choose to switch their claim to a shielded state, which allows them to keep their holdings private using the STRK20 privacy framework.

The strkBTC is a Bitcoin wrapper on Starknet, backed 1:1 by Bitcoin, and was launched earlier in 2026 as part of Starknet's efforts to enhance Bitcoin functionality within its Layer 2 ecosystem. This faucet initiative draws inspiration from the original Bitcoin faucet launched in 2010, which aimed to attract new users by distributing small amounts of Bitcoin. Starknet's approach combines user onboarding with a focus on privacy, allowing users to toggle between public and shielded states for their assets.
