Hunter Biden's LAPTOP Project Announces Token Incentives and Burns
Hunter Biden has announced that the LAPTOP Foundation will release 4 million LAPTOP tokens to enhance liquidity in its market. This decision comes as the foundation's X account is currently suspended, prompting the team to share updates via Medium. Despite the account issues, the foundation remains committed to the LAPTOP project, which has faced challenges due to high demand and front-running bots that led to significant price fluctuations after its initial liquidity pool was established at 0.05 USD per token.
To address these liquidity concerns, the team will inject the new tokens into the Aerodrome liquidity pool starting from 0:00 UTC on September 10, representing 0.4% of the total token supply. Additionally, the foundation plans to burn 10 million tokens, or 1% of the total supply, within the first week of the launch, following the settlement of two predicted events with a 'YES' outcome.
Hunter Biden clarified that there was no presale of LAPTOP tokens and that no allocations were made to investors or influencers. Furthermore, 30% of the tokens held by the founders are locked for six months and will be released over two years, while another 30% designated for a prediction mechanism will be locked for 12 months. Users who subscribed to Hunter Biden's Substack before September 6 can claim 80 million LAPTOP tokens within a 30-day window, with any unclaimed tokens set to be burned. Hunter Biden has previously stated that he did not profit from the LAPTOP project amid its volatile market activity.
