X Layer's xStocks Achieves Nearly $100 Million Market Cap in Three Months

X Layer, a layer 2 blockchain developed by OKX, has rapidly established itself in the tokenized equities market, reaching a market capitalization of approximately $91.5 million in just three months. The platform, which launched in June 2024, now lists 836 assets, marking a significant entry into a market segment that previously had no representation on its platform.

The milestone represents about 3.1% of the overall tokenized equities market, a sector that has seen explosive growth since X Layer's partnership with xStocks was announced in early June 2026. This partnership enabled the integration of tokenized US equities, ETFs, and commodities into the X Layer ecosystem, allowing users from over 110 countries to trade these assets, although participation is restricted for individuals in the United States.

X Layer's asset distribution is notably balanced, with no single asset exceeding 9% of the total holdings. The largest asset, a tokenized version of MicroStrategy stock known as MSTRx, accounts for around $8.45 million. This strategic design choice helps mitigate concentration risk, a common issue in the tokenized asset space. The platform's issuer, Backed Finance, ensures that each token is backed 1:1 by the underlying asset, providing a layer of trust for investors.

As the competition intensifies in the real-world asset tokenization arena, X Layer's integration with OKX Wallet offers a significant advantage by simplifying access for users. This rapid growth highlights the potential for distribution partnerships to accelerate adoption in the evolving landscape of tokenized assets.
