BitGo CEO Highlights Mainstream Adoption of Digital Assets at Token2049 Singapore
At the Token2049 conference in Singapore, BitGo CEO Mike Belshe emphasized that digital assets are becoming integral to the financial system, regardless of legislative actions in the United States. Speaking on October 7, Belshe stated that institutional adoption of digital assets is advancing faster than U.S. lawmakers can respond, indicating a significant shift in the financial landscape.
Belshe's remarks come as BitGo expands its operations in the Asia-Pacific region, with its Singapore trading desk now the largest globally. This growth follows the company receiving a Major Payment Institution license in 2024, which has led to a tripling of its client base in the region and a doubling of its trading volumes in the first half of 2026.
During the conference, BitGo also announced a strategic partnership with HashKey Cloud, focusing on areas such as staking, trading, custody, and tokenization of real-world assets. This partnership aligns with Belshe's vision of positioning prime brokerage as the primary revenue driver for BitGo, aiming for it to constitute 100% of the company's revenue in the future.
